Martin is a dad of 2 and holds a BSc Hons in Herbal Science. The aim of the show is to facilitate conversations with people of a wide variety of backgrounds covering many different topics including society and culture, health & fitness, drugs and drug policy and religion and spirtuality. One topic however that will more than likely come up time and time again will be Cannabis.

Martin spent 4 years studying Herbal Science where he focused on understanding as much as he could about the cannabis plant and the compounds contained within. This also led to studying psychedelics and their therapeutic and traditional uses. Martin spent over 10 years campaigning in Ireland to bring an end to cannabis prohibition and for better access to medicinal cannabis for patients.

While studying Herbal Science at the Cork Institute of Technology Martin founded the Students for sensible drug policy where he chaired for 3 years before handing it over to others after his graduation. Students for Sensible drug policy are now in a number of colleges across Ireland including UCC, NUIG and DCU.

Martin also ran as an independent candidate for Cork North central on a campaign that included legalising cannabis, decriminalising the drug user and introducing spent convictions for those who have been criminalised for possession of drugs.
